Dang, I Have Come Up with A Tankbaby Aging Chart

Posted by Peonycreme - 2 weeks ago

As you all know, a year on Mars lasts 24 months. And given Tankmen takes place on Mars….

I will be basing references to time on how time flows on Mars.

I will be referring to the Mars calendar Meta-Olympia wrote out because it not only lines up the year so it’s easy to read. It also has the seasons colorcoded so you can see how long they last. (This helps with placing holidays for the Tankpeople to celebrate)

But as you know, the calendar effects how the tankpeople age and gestation processes.

As we know, they’re aliens, so the gestation process is different, but they seem to age like humans.

Aside from Ted acting like he’s 70 despite being 47, Skittles is 13 and acts like a kid his age. (Despite throwing temper tantrums, it’s not like a toddler where he’s kicking, screaming, and crying. But more like how a edgy teenager would behave) But given Mars’ years, everyone ages like us but they stay that age for 24 months because that’s how long a Martian year lasts. So, they age slower than us, like while we celebrate our birthday, Skittles will stay 13 for another 12 months. (but then, this is animation, and given Tankmen’s episodic nature (I will make my webseries episodic because it fits the best), nobody will age except tankbabies will show growth but stop at where I want the age for them to be))

With that being said, while tankpeople and tanklings are easy because they’ll have a stagnant age and it’s easy to pinpoint their ages. The Tankbabies will be a challenge because they’ll be aging by months and while human babies take 23 months to reach the toddler stage, babies do achieve milestones as they age. So, pinpointing a tankbaby’s age will be hard.

A chart will help me pinpoint ages, and given I will have tankbabies mature a little faster than human babies, (Where by their equivalent to being a few months old, they’re already saying their first words, crawl, and have precise hand-eye coordination (e.g., Twix will already be coloring pages neatly), at birth, they can hold their bottles and nurse without assistance, and by the time they’re equivalent to 5 months old, they’re crawling, saying a few words (where they speak 1-2 words at time, like saying “daddy, up” to be held), and even standing up, and by the equivalent of 10 months old, they’re walking), the chart will help me pinpoint where tankbabies reach those milestones.

So, you’ll see the tankbaby age chart after I finish my finals.

Speaking of tankbabies, during the second half of season 1, Twix (Skittles’ baby brother) will be equivalent to being a few months old and that will be the status quo. And at that point, Twix is having baby food and milk, and given I will be having tankpeople eating poisonous fruits because they can safely ingest them. I will give Skittles a favorite food, sausage fruit, https://animals.sandiegozoo.org/sites/default/files/2017-08/animals_hero_sausage-tree.jpg. He will be eating it like a banana and he insists Twix eats sausage fruit baby food but Twix does not like it as much as his big brother.
